Product Description
Pipla or Piper pedicellatum is a medicinal plant growing in the forests of Southern Bhutan. Similar to black pepper the fruits of this plant have a distinctive sour & hot taste and can also be used as a spice. The Indian Ayurvedic System as well as in the Tibetan and Bhutanese Medical Tradition recognize ‘pipla’ as a powerful stimulant for the digestive and respiratory systems, as a rejuvenating agent, longevity enhancer and tonic for the immune system.
Bio Bhutan provides organic certified pipla that is managed and collected by the Nangkor Pipla Management Group in Zhemgang, south-central Bhutan. Certification has been carried out by INDOCERT in accordance with the EU regulations.
